Philippines
The big foot represents the United States and the little man represents Emilio Aguinaldo. The sad and mad look on his face symbolizes his frustration when hearing that the Philippines is not going to receive their own independence after the Spanish-American war. The big foot over the country of the Philippines illustrates the big control over the United States has on the Philippines, not even caring if they mess up their plantation. This also depicts how the Philippines were foolish enough to trust the United States in receiving freedom after Aguinaldo helped Dewey fight the Spaniards for the invasion of Manila.
Japan
The boy on the very right with the sad look on his face is a Japanese student and the three people on the right represent White students in front of the school. This picture expresses the type of segregation the japanese felt when they could not attend the same school as the whites because there want't going to be enough room for them. This of course angered the Japanese and thus resulting in the Gentleman's Agreement which promises that Japan will stop sending so many immigrants if America stops the segregating of Japanese students in schools.
Cuba
The left hand represents America and the left hand represents Cuba. There were problems with Cuba so America proposed the Platt agreement which allowed allowed the United States to interevene in Cuban affairs in order to protect the government. I drew the Cuban hand as weak and jailed because I wanted to emphasize that even though Cuba agreed with this amendment they still were not exactly happy with it because it allowed the United States power to intervene in Cuba's internal affairs and the rights to Guantanamo Bay.
